Tiki In Germany

There's a Trader Vic's in Hamburg, in Munich, and in Duesseldorf: The Hamburg one is from the early nineties, but nicely done (none of that Palo Alto "moderne"), with lots of fishnet floats and pufferfish.
The Duesseldorf one was closed for a while, don't know if it's open again. The Munich one is the best, because it is from '72, it was only the second foreign Vic's (after London).
Munich also has the Waikiki, an authentic restaurant opened long ago by one of Munich Vic's waiters, and a nouveaux Tiki Bar, the Aloha Bar.
If you go to Hamburg, go see the full scale Maori meeting house at the Ethnological Museum, and check out the gnarly sailors bars (Haifisch Bar, Schellfisch Posten) at the port (near the Fishmarkt)..and off course the St.Pauli red light district, where many dives have been turned into hipster hang outs. And don't miss Harry's Harbour Bazaar (http://www.hafenbasar.de/)
Cologne has some Thai restaurants with lots of bamboo and cocktails served in Tiki mugs, and the Hemingway Bar, where over seventy kinds of rum and cocktails are served (for expert mixology, also check out Schumann's in Munich).
Berlin has the Rock-A-Tiki store (aloha@rock-a-tiki.com) in Prenzlauer Berg, and the Kahuna Lounge, a failed retro Tiki place.
